Smyrna is the host location for one of the Delaware Cooperative Extension’s Master Gardeners Demonstration Gardens.  Just a half-mile east at 884 Smyrna-Leipsic Road (Smyrna, 19977) DSU maintains the 192-acre Outreach and Research Center, which includes a one-acre Master Gardeners gardening area –  that has a variety of perennial flowers, shrubs, vines, grasses and trees available to see and enjoy.  It is a great site for a picnic, for enjoying the changing seasons, to learn about native plants, or to just relax outside.

The Kent County Master Gardeners hold various workshops at the gardens, all of which are open to the public.
